This is Camarillo's first fire station. This is Camarillo's landmark and one of handful of remaining Camarillo history. It's currently vacant and located between Diszar Park and St. Mary Magdalen Church.
This is our new and improved fire station at 2160 PIckwick Drive. Next to post office. It was built in 1995.
While I was taking pictures, they happened to be responding to a fire call.
Before - Photo dated November 3, 1961.
Ventura Boulevard (Old Conejo Road) was a part of U.S. Highway 101. New freeway was constructed in the 50's.
After: June 26, 2006
Thousand Oaks - Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce holds Business Expo and Trade Show three times a year. Today's theme was Surf your way to Better Business.
Thousand Oaks - Westlake Business Expo takes place at Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel in the Garden area. I have done a few wedding photography gigs in this very spot. The expo is absolutely free for public to attend.
There always have food, drink, gifts, and prizes. Almost all 70 vendor's tables were taken. (I think it was sold out).
I ate 2 hot-dogs, 1 tamale, 2 tacos, 2 wines, 1 coke, and number of other small treats. Yikes...
Next expo will be held on September. Come on over to have fun and get to know the businesses in your area. If you are a business owner you can have your own table for just $225.00
Pictures: Hyatt Westlake Plaza Hotel always showcases their high class treats. California Pizza Kitchen not only had good food, they also brought a lot of raffle prizes. Downy Savings had the best presentation.

This Burger King at Oxnard shares the parking lot with Costco.
They are temporarily closed due to fire.
I remember coming here 6 years ago (2000) to trade Pekemon Toys with youngsters.
This Burger King was packed with pokemon collectors at that time.
Post Plaza is located across Camarillo Post Office on Pickwick. The major vendors such as Blockbuster Video, Party Pleasers, and Enterprise Rent-a-car are located here. Oh, and my favorite store "Pop's" is here as well.
This water tower is visible from most parts of Camarillo.
Look close at the top of the tower, you can see a lot of equipment up there.
At night, it blinks red light to warn airplanes because this tower is located right on the airplane route. The funny thing is that this tower is painted in sky-blue paint. This reminds me of typical cartoon clips. Birds and airplanes can fly into this tower because it's camouflaged.
During the Christmas season, they put on the lights on the top of the tower Click Here for pictures of the tower with Christmas lights.
Day and night shots of the sign.
Las Posas Plaza is located at 101 Freeway & Las Posas.
Photographed on March 26, 2006 during the rainy season.

At Gateway Center Plaza in Ventura (Where Kohl's & Barns & Noble are located).
This must be a club of some sort.
I have seen another classic car club at Simi Valley at HomeTown Buffett. Click Here
From this creek, you can see 101 Freeway going over "The Grade" to Thousand Oaks.
When I was there to take pictures, I wasn't sure I was allowed to be there.
RadioShack at Camarillo Town Center is closing.
The entire store was on sale.
Of course, they have already stashed the good stuff away.
I couldn't find any spectacular savings.
There is another Radio Shack at Camarillo, on Arneill Road close to K-Mart.
Day 1: Monday May 8, 2006
This ever-famous clock at Old Town Camarillo had not been working for several months. The factory people were supposed to come fix the clock. I think they are finally working on it. I saw this development Monday morning around 8:30am
Day 2: Tuesday May 9, 2006
They put a little fence around the clock. On lunch time, I saw two guys working on the clock with the big glasses off. When I came back with the camera (50 minutes later) those two men were on the ground. (I missed a good shot). What I noticed, was that the clock was about 20 minutes faster. I don't think this job is done.
Day 3: Wednesday May 10, 2006
They fixed the time. Now it's running about 2-3 minutes behind, which is pretty close. But, I hope they would adjust the time even further, so it will be super accurate. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Day 4 & 5 - Thursday / Friday
The clock is still running about 2 minutes behind.
Maybe my watch is fast?
Anyway, they still have the fence around the clock.
Day 15 - May 23, 2006 Tuesday - Job completed.
They have cleared everything around the clock. Clock is running 2-3 minutes late.
I am beginning to wonder if my clock is running faster.
Salzers at 101 Freeway and Victory, Ventura
I went to Ventura to meet a wedding photography prospect.
It was a good opportunity to finally photograph Salzers.
I dropped by on my way back.
I shot them at 1/40 & 1/50 second
PS. I booked that wedding. :)
The official name for this shopping center is "Shopping at the Rose"
Located at 101 Freeway and Rose, Oxnard California.
I come here pretty much every Sunday to shop.
My favorite stores are Best Buy and Office Max. This is a half of Shopping at the Rose. The other half is located opposit side of Rose Avenue. Large stores such as Walmart & Sam's Clubs are there.
Click here for complete list of the stores
I had a wedding photography job at Santa Paula.
This car was used as a limo for the bride.
