Former Thousand Oaks High student Marion Jones loses medals today

Today, The International Olympic committee stripped five Olympic medals and deleted her name from the record.

Seven years after winning a women's record five Olympic track and field medals and snagging multimillion-dollar endorsement deals, Marion Jones was broke. According to the Associated Press, Jones is heavily in debt and fighting off court judgments, according to recent court records reviewed by the Los Angeles Times.

Last year a bank foreclosed on her $2.5-million mansion in an area of Chapel Hill, N.C., where Michael Jordan was a neighbor. She was also forced to sell two other properties, including her mother's house, to raise money. In her prime, Jones was one of track's first female sports millionaires, typically earning between $70,000 and $80,000 a race, plus at least another $1 million from race bonuses and endorsement deals

No photography in Promenade at Westlake

I wanted to take some pictures of Christmas decorations in Promenade at Westlake (Westlake Village).

As soon as I took one picture, I was surrounded by two uniformed security guards.  They told me not to take pictures.

I thought that was pretty messed up.

Below is my email sent to their PR person.

-----------------------------------------

Hi, this is John Park from VenturaWeekly.com

I went to Promenade in Westlake Village to take some pictures.

My intention was all good… I only wanted people to see how nice the place was so more people will get to know Promenade.

Anyway, two security guards surrounded me and told me not to photograph the place.

So, what is the guideline on photography?

Is it so bad that I want to take some pictures of your shopping center?

Is a small pocket camera allowed?

Is a cell-phone camera allowed?

Thank you for your time.

Promenade at Westlake - it's ridiculous.
