This photograph was taken April 1, 2006. I often take snap shots like this as I drive around Ventura county. I don't normally trash boring images, because they may become valuable material later on. Below picture of old Oxnard strreet seems boring but there are interesting stories.
This intersection is located 101 freeway (North Bound) off ramp at Santa Clara/Rice Avenue. I get off freeway here to go to Costco & Fry's.
As of December 2007, this entire area is being cleared off so they can start building a brand new freeway interchange. Soon, this area will go through a major makeover that we will not remember how it was before.
Le Town Market / Oxnard mini market is now demolished. The market was fenced off for several months. Then it was taken down.
Next, about these palm trees.
These are historic markers. These trees mark the spots where big houses were located. If you drive through farmland between Oxnard and Saticoy, you will see palm trees standing in this pattern. In fact there are number of places like this. These trees outline driveway to a big antique house. It doesn't show on below picture, but in most cases, there are big pine trees in front of those houses just like the one in front of the Camarillo Ranch House.
I know for fact that there was an old house at the end of these palm trees. The house is not there anymore.
I think the City of Oxnard will cut down these threes. The trees look very old and tired. If these trees can talk...
Oxnard Plaza Park: 5th Street and B Street Oxnard, California
Ventura County's tallest Christmas Tree is located here in Oxnard Plaza Park.
This is Fifty-Seventh year to light Christmas Tree at Oxnard Plaza Park.
Back by popular demand, the City of Oxnard presents "Winter Fantasy Music & Light Show". The Plaza Park Pagoda is decorated with beautiful lights and decoration. Every 15 minutes they display Christmas music and light show from the Pagoda. This is their second annual event.
Besides the Plaza Park, City of Oxnard has more Christmas events you might want to check out.

Images of Morgan Stanley building are located here.
Topa Tower Club is an exclusive, "membership only", club located on top floor (22nd floor) of Morgan Stanley Building in Oxnard. You can dine, exercise, and party in style. This club hall is also available for weddings and business meetings. I had an opportunity to be up there for the Christmas Party hosted by some business organization.
Looking Down from Top floor of Morgan Stanley building, Oxnard
Since I'm a computer guy, I let our sales associates to do the talking. I'm usually in the corner taking pictures and score wine and shrimp cocktail. Pictures didn't come out good, but I thought I should post them anyway. "Looking down" shots are especially bad, it was a bad time to take pictures. I couldn't do much about the reflections.

Below are two more shots of looking down.

Below images do not click... a few detail shots inside Topa Tower Club.
There is a party store behind Costco in Oxnard.
They have invited a special guest (Mr. Death) for Halloween.
This Wal*mart is located at Rose Avenue and 101 Freeway at Oxnard.
I do not know the name of these trees/flowers.
The flowers seemed to be illuminated... the color was amazing. These flowers were everywhere in the parking lot. (from Sam's Club to Wal*mart).
I took a few flash photographs.
First, I measured the exposure as I looked up to the sky (at Av mode).
Then I switched my camera to manual and set the shutter speed.
And I turned on the flash at the lowest power.
I am amazed at today's technology. My cheap camera can do practically anything.
Krispy Kreme at Oxnard is now Closed. There is no Krispy Kreme in Ventura County anymore. The nearest location is in Van Nuys.
I remember when they first opened the store around year 2000. After taking a bite of that hot glazed donut, there was no going back. They also had good coffee. They've been roasting coffee since 1937. I used to grind & brew Krispy Kreme coffee every morning before I go to work. I still have two Krispy Kreme coffee mugs.
I have 19 pictures to share with you. Some of the photographs below were taken in March 2003 & May 2006. "After" shots were taken August 9 2006.

This is the tallest building in Ventura County that I know of. It's Morgan Stanley Tower at Oxnard. I'm trying to find the history about this building... but it's very difficult to find anything.
More pictures from inside the building & looking down from top floor are located here.

This Burger King at Oxnard shares the parking lot with Costco.
They are temporarily closed due to fire.
I remember coming here 6 years ago (2000) to trade Pekemon Toys with youngsters.
This Burger King was packed with pokemon collectors at that time.
The official name for this shopping center is "Shopping at the Rose"
Located at 101 Freeway and Rose, Oxnard California.
I come here pretty much every Sunday to shop.
My favorite stores are Best Buy and Office Max. This is a half of Shopping at the Rose. The other half is located opposit side of Rose Avenue. Large stores such as Walmart & Sam's Clubs are there.
